Family photos #1

I'm not the last living descendant of my line, but I'm the one who cares the most about genealogy. Luckily people have sent me lots of pictures of our family. Some people in the photos have been named, but not all. I'm looking forward to having your help with identification.

For example, below is the "oldest" family photo in my collection. I have been told that this is William Collins Purdy II and Susan Marie Best. It was probably taken in Staunton, IL, but I don't know when. She died in 1910 and he died in 1912, so the photo was definitely taken by 1910. They both look pretty old, so I'm guessing the photo was taken between 1900 and 1910.

My father looks a lot like WCP2 in the eyes!

The purpose of this blog

Here I'll be writing and posting material about the family and descendants of William Collins Purdy and (Mary)  Ann Kinney. I know most about the family of William Collins Purdy II who married Susan Marie Best, but I'll post whatever I know. Facts will have sources and theories will be labeled as such. 

I write when there's time and the inclination.
